Battlehawks 1942 is a naval air combat combat flight simulation game released in 1988 by Lucasfilm Games. It is set in the World War II Pacific air war theatre, and was the first of Lucasfilm Games' trilogy of World War II flight simulations, followed by Their Finest Hour (1989) and Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe (1991). The 127-page manual for Battlehawks 1942 includes a 100-page illustrated overview of the Pacific War.
Cheat codes, console commands, secrets:
To keep your pilots alive forever, make a copy of the files that
have your name before you go on a dangerous mission. For example
PILOT1.PLT or JOHN.PLT. If you get killed you can copy the file
back and your pilot is resurrected as though he had never flown the
fatal mission. For example, to copy the file JAMES.PLT change to
the Battlehawks directory and type:
COPY JAMES.PLT JAMES.XXX
To resurrect the pilot change to the Battlehawks directory and then type:
COPY JAMES.XXX JAMES.PLT
Make sure you copy the .PLT file every time you have a successful
mission. Make a separate backup copy for each pilot you have.
